Kamala Harris To Run The 2024 Presidential Election

Kamala Harris

On Sunday, Biden made his decision to step down from the US election campaign. A post was tweeted by him saying that it’s been the honor of his life to serve as US president for 5 years and also announced his resolution to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris to take over the presidential race that he is leaving behind. It was his first decision to choose Harris as his vice president back in 2020. Now that he believes Harris as the fittest candidate to knock down Donald Trump, he urges all Democrats to unite behind her.

Harris was immensely happy and honored to embrace the decree made by the president. On Sunday, she has been reaching out to lawmakers, outside organizations, and donors. A top democratic official told that she was expected to make 200 calls on Sunday alone.

Many prominent Democrats, like former president Bill Clinton and ex- secretary of state Hillary Clinton, immediately shared their support for Harris. On the other hand, Barack Obama happily reacted to Biden’s decision to end his presidential race, but he didn’t add on anything regarding Harris as a candidate for the U.S election.

On 21st of July, the Biden-Harris campaign officially changed the name of its main committee to “Harris for President” in its filings with the Federal Election Commission. However, it is not guaranteed that Harris will become the top candidate. The delegates to the Democratic National Convention will now choose the nominee. Although Biden secured the majority of delegates in the previous primary process, they now have the freedom to select their preferred candidate and cannot be automatically switched to Harris.

Trump noted that Biden was the single worst president in history of America, and also added that it is way easier for him to defeat Harris than Biden.

Americans are looking forward to knowing the fortunes of Democrats.
